This all speculation & chinese whispers... the whole time they were in Vancouver working on separate projects, they never publicly confirmed or denied what their relationship was exactly...

They never confirmed they were more than friends & so what if they were dating? They're young & its what kids their age do, they also have their whole life ahead of them... They never knew eachother personally before & seeing as how they were working in the same city, they got to hang out, build a relationship of sorts & become friends. What's so wrong with that?

They tried to do that in private so the media wouldn't misconstrue things & hype it up if that wasn't going on. Now, if they were just friends (maybe with benefits) then they had a great time with eachother while they had time to share & Taylor has had to go home. Maybe they will continue things further down the track & maybe not. If they were going out & he has dumped her without the least bit of respect (which I find hard to believe of Taylor from what I have seen of his character) & "stood her up" then yes, that is inexcusable behaviour but I doubt that would've happened because if its "in Taylors best interest on letting every little girl make believe she could be The One" then these little girls wouldn't find such a characteristic or behaviour from Taylor appealing to them at all & could go the other way if they start finding him to be a real jerk!

I don't think people should pass judgement until we actually hear it directly from the people involved, not here say!

What kind of people are you in the US that believe all this crap about dating people (appearing available for crazed fans), having plastic surgery - coz heaven help you all, you are all so ugly you can't possible be in the movies otherwise! - are the rest of you so braindead that you let this type of crap occur and find it acceptable? No wonder the world thinks you're all a bit weird. Who in the US has the guts to stand up and put a stop to all this nonsense? He's a teenager - he should be able to go out with whoever he bloomin well pleases, whenever he pleases - as should every other person who acts or performs - and everyone should be able to do so just as they are - no pumped up lips, no chemically damaged coloured hair, no plastic enhanced chests - just real people... or are there none of those left in the US?

I think the fact that he broke up with her just for that lowers my opinion of him. I mean, girls don't care if he goes out with someone i.e. Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens or the Jonas Brothers...that was pretty harsh. I thought he was a nice guy, but after the shady thing he did, regardless of the fact that his father (who shouldn't be encouraging this kind of thing if it is against his son's wishes) told him to, he is a jackass. But hey, thats Hollywood. What can a person do?

It's what's best for his career. That's just how the Hollywood business is.

Statistically, he'll do better as a young bachelor than as a teenager in a relationship. He's very young, and he's not at a point in his career where he can generate a strong enough fan following on the basis of his acting alone.
Once he's a bit older, once he's done more serious films, and fans like him more for acting skills rather than just his boyish good looks (i.e. Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio) , he can go out with whomever he so chooses.

Right now, his father and his handlers are just looking out for him.

At his young age, as an up and coming star, he'll have to either ditch the girl or toss out his career. It's all about marketing.
Those young stars who want to make it big in the business need to distance themselves from the dating scene until they're a bit more seasoned.
If he can't handle it, then maybe being a big-name actor is not the right career choice...

Ok guys...you can't believe everything you hear. I love Taylor too but, really, anyone can write anything and it makes people think. If Taylor in fact did do this. Then i'm sure he had a good reason. They make it sound to harsh. Also how would they know if he texted her or not. They don't know. So don't be mad at him for something no one but Taylor himself can prove is true.

well....I know that some people might think that this is what is best for him but... if you really look at it... when taylor and selena where going out he got ALOT more attention...so there wwnt more fame in his career......ok, and if he really wanted to see how him and selena would work out then he would have stayed with her.
