The phone features GPRS and Bluetooth

The FCC has recently approved the M1, a smartphone produced by the Taiwan-based company Tatung. The handset is light and compact, with a 2.2 inch TFT display capable of 176 x 220 pixel resolution.

The mobile runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 and is powered by a 208 MHz TI OMAP 730 processor, with 128 MB of Flash memory and 64 MB of RAM. Memory expansion is also supported via miniSD cards.

The phone is quad GSM capable and features GPRS Class B, USB Bluetooth 1.2 with A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) for stereo wireless headsets and speakers. It includes a 1.3 megapixel camera, with picture and video capture, flash and 4x digital zoom, capable of taking 5 pictures at a time with the continuous shutter feature. Users can chat using Pocket MSN Messenger, surf the net with Pocket Internet Explorer, watch media with Windows Media Player 10 or play Java games thanks to the embedded Java Virtual Machine.

The Tatung M1 Smartphone platform is available in English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. The price will be around $199.99.
