India is not only boosting its economy by exploiting renewables; it also seems ready to green up transportation, by launching hybrid cars in an attempt to curb greenhouse gas emissions.

Indian automaker Tata has recently announced its eagerness to showcase its Tata Manza hybrid electric sedan during the much expected 2012 Delhi Auto Show, set for next week, Green Car Reports informs.

Even though the company is not ready to reveal all the details, rumor has it that the new concept is inspired by the standard Manza sedan and will come equipped with a lithium-ion battery.

It seems that India is following the same path drawn up by China, taking advantage of its economic growth to boost the production of electric vehicles. Since more and more people can afford cars, eco-friendly hybrids seem to represent a solid bet for a sustainable future.
