Christmas celebrations have passed and you still haven’t been able to grab the Android slate of your dreams? Well, if you live in Australia and are considering opting for a lower-range offering, you should know that Target is offering two new tablets at very acceptable rates.

First off, we have the Unisurf 7, a modest product when compared to others we have seen grace the market, but still capable of fulfilling customers’ basic needs.

The slate offers a 7-inch multi-touch high-resolution screen with an unknown pixel resolution. Power is drawn from a 1GHz processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and backed up by 16GB of internal storage (which can be increased up to 32GB via the micro SDHC).

There’s only one front facing 0.3MP camera available with the model and Target says the slate should last up to 9 hours of music playback and 4.5 hours of web browsing. The default operating system is Android 4.2.

If you think you could make-do with a basic slate like this, Target offers it at a ridiculous AUD$79 / $70 / €51 (discounted from the original AUD$99 / $88 / €64), and you can get it both from the brick and mortar Target stores or online, so if you don’t feel like making a trip down there, you won’t have to.

Up next, we have the Unisurf 10-inch, a tablet with a larger screen but equally low specs, albeit with some added improvements compared to its smaller brother.

So we have the same 16GB of internal storage (extendable to 32GB), but Target doesn't give off any information about processor or RAM, which is a bit odd. Unlike the previous tablet, here we have two cameras (0.3MP frontal one and 2MP on the back).

Battery life is expected to last the same as with the previous model, but the Unisurf comes equipped with HDMI out and microUSB.

The device can be purchased for AUD$149 / $131 / €96 (down from the original AUD$199 / $176 / €128), but it seems a little bit expensive for what it has to offer and you’d probably find something better within the same price range.
