Former Hollywood hellraiser Tara Reid got the scare of a lifetime when a woman she’d never met before launched at her and smashed a glass in her face, at the exclusive Beat club in London’s west end in November last year. Now, the woman has been cleared of all charges.

The Daily Mail reports that Maryam Hassan, aged 27, who stood accused of assault and causing bodily harm, was cleared of charges by a jury. When she heard the verdict, she waved and mouthed “thank you” to the jurors, clearly thrilled by the outcome of the trial.

The jury also heard that the attack was so serious that Reid, who shot to fame thanks to “American Pie” but then kept making headlines for her wild partying, feared she might actually end up blind.

The aforementioned media outlet also offers all the details of the altercation – and it sure looks like Tara had the worst night of her life.

Apparently, Hassan got in the club because she knew one of the bouncers. She didn’t have an invite but that didn’t stop her from heading up to Reid and throwing her glass in her face. The actress responded in the same way, pouring all the alcohol she had in her glass right then on Hassan’s face.

The woman was eventually booted from the club but she returned minutes later and, without a word, rushed up to Tara and smashed a glass on her face. The actress was rushed to the hospital with a corneal abrasion, a cut on her forehead, and another one on the bridge of her nose.

“I didn’t know who she was but I guess she was not getting any attention. She came up to me and threw the contents of her drink over my chest. I reacted immediately and threw my drink over her. The club’s body guard took her away. The same female came back 20 minutes later and she was then taken away. She said ‘I’m not getting kicked out, you [expletive], you [expletive]’,” Reid told the court of the incident.

“It was so quick, she stood close to me within arms’ length, and smashed the glass in my face,” she continued.

Hassan also stood accused of racially abusing one bouncer, but she was cleared of that as well.
