Tara Reid Breaks Off Engagement

In January this year, actress and former wild party girl Tara Reid announced she had met the man of her dreams, with whom she’d agreed to spent the rest of her life. She was engaged and would be married at the end of May in a fancy ceremony. A spokesperson for Reid confirms for People that Tara Reid is no longer engaged to Michael Axtmann.

Speculation about this started to make the rounds the other day and, in response to all the rumors picking up speed fast, the actress’ representative issued only a confirmation. He would not say, though, what prompted the decision or how the star was coping – and neither will he anytime soon, it is being said.

“Four months after she got engaged, Tara Reid says her wedding planned for next month is off. The actress and Playboy model, 34, gave no explanation, releasing only a brief statement saying, ‘Tara Reid has confirmed that she will not be moving forward with her May 22 nuptials’,” People magazine says. Reid’s split is just as sudden and surprising as the engagement announcement, which shows the two might have rushed into the decision to tie the knot.

“Tara Reid and boyfriend Michael Axtmann were having dinner at The Little Door restaurant in Los Angeles on Monday night when Axtmann asked for something not on the menu: Reid’s hand in marriage. ‘Michael surprised Tara with a beautiful round brilliant cut ring,’ the actress’ rep tells People exclusively. Tara was so happy, and the other patrons clapped and yelled out, ‘Congratulations’,” the aforementioned publication was saying back in January, after the Internet entrepreneur asked for Tara’s hand in marriage.

As far as the public knows, at the time it transpired that Tara might not be going ahead with the wedding, she was busy ironing out the final details for the ceremony that should have taken place a month from now. For more on this, make sure you keep an eye on this space.
