With the LIC-TRA056SD from Logitec

Although snooping in on other people's conversations is not right from a moral point of view, the number of people who actually do so is quite high. This is the reason why the Japanese company Logitec has launched the LIC-TRA056SD, a device that can easily record the conversations carried out over a normal telephone line and then transfer them onto a PC.

The most important selling points of the device from Logitec are its versatility and ease of use. Thus, the device plugs into a phone (actually, it is inserted at some point on the phone line, between the wall jack and the phone itself), and records all the conversations carried out on said line in MP3/WAV format. The files are saved on the device's built-in 128 MB flash memory (which can hold up to 50 hours worth of conversations), and if you think that's not enough, you can always extend the storage capacity via an SD card, as the LIC-TRA056SD features an SD card slot. The data can then be very easily transferred to a PC via an USB 2.0 interface, since the device sports one of these things as well.

As mentioned earlier, the device is extremely easy to operate, as it features only 3 control buttons, for starting the recording/playback and delete. The phone recorder also features a password lock function, it blocks access to the playback and file transfer functions. Thus, users who don't know the correct password won't be able to playback the recorded conversations on the device's built-in speaker, and even if they manage to transfer the files to a PC, they can only be decrypted with the help of a special software delivered with the LIC-TRA056SD.

The phone recorder from Logitec will hit the Japanese market in mid-June, but pricing information is still scarce. However, it will probably enjoy quite a high level of success, considering the fact that the world is full of jealous and possessive persons, who want to be constantly informed regarding what their spouse is talking about on the phone.
