Following our previous report about a new mysterious Tamron lens ready to be unveiled to the public on November 7, new rumors have emerged that this new lens will come as a replacement for Tamron's AF 200-500mm f/5.0-6.3 Di LD SP FEC (IF) lens.

It further seems that the new lens will have a focal length longer than that of the AF 200-500mm f/5.0-6.3, somewhere around 150-500mm, a report says.

The new lens could also incorporate a new and more efficient image stabilization technology (VC=Vibration Compensation) to cope with the longer focal length and to provide a few more stops of light when necessary.

The AF 200-500mm f/5.0-6.3 Di LD SP FEC (IF) lens has been well received by photographers looking for a cheaper alternative to brand telephoto zoom lenses.

For now, little is known about the upcoming Tamron lens, but more information will be released by the Nippon manufacturer later this week (November 7).
