The Canon EF mount model will be launched in Japan on December 19

Announced more than month ago, Tamron's 150-600mm F5-6.3 Di VC USD SP lens got new details as well as an official release date and price through a new press release published on Tamron Japan.

As we previously reported, the new Tamron lens comes to replace the firm's AF 200-500mm f/5-6.3 Di LD SP FEC (IF) lens and comes with a 50mm longer focal range on the wide-angle and 100mm on the telephoto side.

The Tamron 150-600mm F5-6.3 Di VC USD SP lens for Canon EF mount will be released in Japan on December 19 at a retail price of ¥140,000 / $1,357 / €988. The Nikon and Sony compatible mount model availability will be announced at a later date.

[Update: December 14] Tamron USA has just announced that the 150-600mm Di VC USD SP lens will be available in the United States starting January 17, 2014 at a price of $1,069.
