Alleged bomber in the Boston Marathon attacks, Tamerlan Tsarnaev has made a last call to his mother before engaging in a shootout with police in Massachusetts on Friday, April 19.

As I detailed, Tsarnaev was killed the same day and his younger brother was captured in Watertown, hours later. The latter is currently hospitalized with serious injuries, and has become responsive.

“The police, they have started shooting at us, they are chasing us,” the suspect said as he made an emotion call to his mother Zubeidat Tsarnaeva.

The Daily Mail adds that she had no idea about his involvement in the Boston attacks, even calling him afterwards to check on his safety. That day, he told her she had nothing to worry about.

He ended his final conversation with her by saying “Mama, I love you.”

As reported, his wife, Katherine Russell was also unaware of the situation. She had married him while in college, dropped out and converted to Islam within a year.
