Forest City Ratner Companies is building the tallest modular building in the world in New York – B2 is set to be 32-stores high.

The 340,000 square-foot (31.600 square-meter) residential tower will feature modular blocks exclusively.

“Designed by SHoP Architects and with Arup as the engineers, this will be the tallest building in the world using modular technology, and I must tell you that it will also be beautiful,” Forest City Ratner Companies chairman and CEO Bruce Ratner describes.

“It’s affordable – that is the most important thing,” he adds, stressing that he aims to provide low-cost housing, by preserving a high quality of design.

This ambitious project is set to be completed in 18 months, instead of the 28 months previously announced, Design Build Source writes.
