A talking Barbie doll fell into disgrace and ended up embarrassing its kind after a mother of one found that it had a potty mouth and very much liked to swear, media reports say.

Thus, the doll, based on web reality series “Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse,” was heard shouting “What the [expletive]?!” (think of a word that rhymes with “duck”). Manufacturer Mattel is yet to comment on the incident.

A Barbie doll with an attitude problem

Information shared with the public says that the doll in question, similar to the one pictured next to this article, was bought by 25-year-old Talina Evans from North Wales, UK, not too long ago.

The woman got the doll because her daughter, 7-year-old Demileigh, kept nagging her about how much she wanted one. When bringing the Barbie home to Demileigh, Talina Evans had no idea what the doll was capable of.

Apparently, the Barbie dolls belonging to this series are programmed to say things like “I love a makeover,” “Amaze,” “To the salon,” “There is no substitute for glitter,” and the like. Nowhere on the box does it say that swear words are part of the package deal.

Interestingly enough, it looks like 7-year-old Demileigh got to play with the doll for quite a while before her mother finally figured out that the Barbie was no stranger to foul language, separated the two, and tried to return it to the store whence it came from.

“She loved it and has been playing with it constantly ever since. We hadn’t really paid that much attention to it or what it was saying. Then a friend of ours picked up the toy and I heard it say ‘What the [expletive]’ loud and clear, I was so shocked.”

“We’ve taken it off her now. We just told her that the doll had been bad and was swearing so it had to go. She was disappointed, of course, but she understood that it is wrong to swear and so the doll had to go,” explained the 25-year-old woman, as cited by Daily Mail.

No place in this world for a Barbie doll with a potty mouth

As mentioned, 25-year-old Talina Evans tried to return the doll to the local Home Bargains store where she got it as soon as she realized that the Barbie had no idea how to behave around children, or around well-educated people, for that matter. However, seeing how she no longer had the receipt, the store refused to take it back.

By the looks of it, toy maker Mattel is now investigating this incident. Rumor has it that the exclamation that landed this Barbie in trouble was supposed to be “Off the hook,” and that the doll only started saying the swear words rather than this phrase due to a sound problem.
