Talking About Windows is a new online destination from Microsoft centered on the upcoming version of Windows. The website went live on April 27, and is designed to offer a variety of video content featuring both IT professionals but also Microsoft's own engineers in discussions revolving around Windows 7. Microsoft has aimed the website at an IT pro audience, but fact is that there are no restrictions to access the videos or to start talking about Windows 7

“Through Talking About Windows, IT Professionals can listen as our engineers discuss why certain product decisions and feature trade-offs were made in Windows 7 from the likes of Mark Russinovich – a Technical Fellow here at Microsoft (and founder of Windows Sysinternals) - as well as Jon DeVaan, Senior Vice President for the Windows Core Operating System. A great line-up of videos with the people behind Windows 7 can be found at Talking About Windows too with more on the way,” revealed Brandon LeBlanc, Windows communications manager on the Windows Client Communications Team.

LeBlanc promises that viewers will be able to access behind-the-scene details associated with Windows 7. In this regard, the engineers that are actually contributing to the development process of Windows Vista's successor will be sharing information via videos placed strategically on the website in a window frame. At the same time, IT pros will get the opportunity to share their own experiences with Windows 7, from deployment to actually running the operating system.

“Talking About Windows also features videos of IT Professionals offering real-world commentary on their Windows deployment and adoption experiences as well,” LeBlanc added. “If you’re an IT Professional, you can also take part in conversations on the Talking About Windows website via the comments section for each video. After all – it’s about “talking about Windows” right?”
