The latest phishing emails, designed to target TalkTalk telecoms company customers, alert recipients that they may have recently changed their 3-D Secure Passwords, utilized to pay bills, urging them to update their account information.

“In order to verify your account please log into your account and submit all your information, if you choose to ignore our request, your account will remain limited until you verify your information,” reads the email sample provided by Hoax Slayer.

Once the link contained in the notification is clicked, the user is taken to a shady website that contains a form which request tons of private information, including old password, new password, date of birth, card type, card number, sort code and security code.

Users who fill in the textfields and press the Submit button are practically handing over their credit cards to the crooks.

This is why internauts who may find this email in their inboxes are advised to immediately delete it. If it’s already too late, contact the bank and request credit monitoring services.
