Whatever the critics have to say, some community members still love Thief

As everyone probably knows, the much-awaited revival of the cult classic Thief series is now officially out everywhere, including Europe, which was a little late to the party.

Eidos Montreal's game has received a mixed reaction from the gaming world, and while some players were truly excited to be able to once again tackle the everyday difficulties of being a medieval gangster, others were left sorely disappointed.

Critic reviews were mixed to positive at best too, and it seems like Garrett's reputation as Master Thief alone won't be able to save the game from the muck of mediocrity.

Criticized mainly for the weak story, abundance of shiny items just lying about in an impoverished world, distracting side missions and suffering from all the expectation built around it, Thief is a decent game that just doesn't have the brilliance that was expected of it.

Nonetheless, Thief is still an important part of the gaming ethos, and some enthusiastic and very talented gamers have made sure to immortalize Garrett's exploits for posterity, in the most fitting way possible for a game about the relentless gathering of bling: rap songs.

The effort that went into the production of these two songs is impressive, as they are chock full of references to the game and perfectly delivered.

So, you can just give them a listen or add them to your playlist while waiting for the Titanfall rap song to come out. Oh, wait.
