Just when you thought that the “Taken” franchise was done, the producers have come up with a third movie in which, surprisingly, no one gets taken. Let's face it, there weren't any family members left for Bryan Mill, the former CIA operative to rescue.

The first trailer is packed full with suspense, action, drama and even some light comedy, giving the third movie in the series the potential to become the biggest box office hit of the franchise. The producers have decided to make this movie in the style of “The Fugitive.”

Instead of chasing the bad guys all over Europe, Mills now finds himself chased by the police, the FBI and the CIA, since he's been wrongly accused of killing his ex-wife. But Mills is not content letting the case be settled in court, so he goes into hiding, swearing revenge on those who set him up.

The good news is that the movie looks like it's going to revitalize the franchise because of the willingness of the producers to step away from the original concept of the film and instead try to come up with another kidnap story, they decided to do things differently this time around.

The bad news is that, in a recent interview, Liam Neeson said that this was going to be his last “Taken” movie, as much fun as he had making them. The aging actor claimed that he was afraid people were going to react negatively to him in the role of an action star and that he planned to take on “grandfather roles.”

That's too bad because “Taken” seems to have been reborn with the this third movie. “Taken 3” is going to be released in theaters starting January 9.
