Konsole is a free terminal emulator for the KDE desktop environment. It is a complete rewrite, not like other terminal emulators that are derivatives of rxvt or xterm. Konsole has many interesting and innovative features such as tabbed interface, history, color schemes and bookmarks. Konsole was originally written by Lars Doelle and is now maintained by Robert Knight.

Talking about Robert Knight, he launched a Konsole usage survey with 28 questions spread on 5 pages, with the main goal to collect information about the needs of Konsole's current users, and how they use this application. He is waiting for your answers to questions like:

■ Which operating system do you usually run Konsole under? ■ How often do you use the command-line to perform tasks, as opposed to an equivalent tool with a graphical interface? ■ Which shell program do you use most frequently? ■ Do you change the colour scheme depending on the computer you are logged into? ■ Do you tend to change the color scheme depending on the program you are running in the terminal? ■ Do you use a colour scheme which came with Konsole? ■ Have you created custom session types for use in Konsole? ■ Do you use GNU Screen? ■ How many Konsole windows do you typically have open at once? ■ How do you typically arrange your Konsole windows? ■ How many tabs do you typically have open at once in a Konsole window? ■ How would you prefer Konsole tabs to be named by default? ■ Do you rename tabs in Konsole manually? ■ Do you change the colour of your Konsole tabs manually? ■ How would you like the tab icons to be set by default?

Use this unique chance to give useful feedback about a vital and often-used base application of the KDE desktop environment, to enable Robert Knight to make Konsole the best console application for KDE 4 (due for release in October 23).
