Whenever you feel like playing a new game, you sometimes find it hard to choose from such a wide range of options. From first person shooters to simple arcade titles, the average person finds it hard to come across the exact game that could prove challenging. If this is the case, I have just the one that everyone will surely find addicting and more than challenging: Annabel.

The game play story takes place in both our present days and in the forgotten world of ancient Egypt. The main character, Annabel, seems to be the reincarnation of an Egyptian princess that has been followed by a curse for hundreds of years. In her present form, she is an average person that stumbles upon a lost tablet within a history museum, which is about to change her life. Little does she know that she is about to embark on the journey of her lifetime.

Just out of nowhere, you will find yourself surrounded by an ancient Egyptian scenery, from where you will have to find your escape. It's as if there are two separate story lines that ultimately come together as a conclusion for the bigger picture.

The purpose of the game is to solve different mind-challenging puzzle games and search for clues that can help her in her quest. What's even more interesting is the fact that this is not your average action-adventure title. Annabel comes with a point-and-click game play combined with a hidden object and adventure scenario.

Although you cannot fully control the character, you can still move around the scenery by clicking the desired location that you would like to focus on. Then, the camera shifts into position so that it can accommodate the proper perspective, giving you a sense that the character is actually moving into the desired direction.

The 3D graphics give the game a sense of dynamism, and you could almost swear that you are playing a classic first-person shooter or a third-person title. This one has a unique game play and offers you the ability to have the best of all of the standard titles.

What sets Annabel apart for other games from the save series is the fact that you have a beautifully colored story line and various quests within quests that make the journey more exciting. For instance, at some point, you will find yourself in the situation to fish out some olive oil. In order to do so, you will have to accomplish a new mission, of finding something to fish it out and store it in. Small things like this one make the game totally unpredictable and very captivating.

From what I’ve seen, the title offers you countless hours of enjoyment by leading you from one scenery to the other in your quest to escape prison. While you make your way to your beloved boyfriend that awaits your escape, you will also have to collect various items that will help you fight your enemy when the time will come to face him.

I have to say that the game is more than addicting once you start playing it, and it can be hard to step away from. It has all the right elements of keeping you glued to the computer and spending countless hours helping Annabel. From the background music to the story line and solving both dangerous and fun puzzles, you will be amazed how easy and fun to play can this game be. Combining point-and-click features with an action adventure and puzzle title has proven to be a winning combination.

For those of you that are a bit skeptic about the game, before paying the 19.99 dollars for the full version, you could try the sixty-minute trial demo, and from there on you will be able to decide for yourself whether you want to buy the full version or not.
