The company behind the “flagship killer,” the Chinese OnePlus has big plans for 2015. After breaking up the partnership with Cyanogen who supplied the custom ROM for its first OnePlus One handset, the device maker was left to pick up the pieces.

Cyanogen went on to develop an exclusive partnership with Indian device maker Micromax, so OnePlus had to find a way to make ends meet.

Luckily, the company quickly bounced back and it announced it was ready to unveil its own custom ROM, called OxyenOS, on February 12.

Curious to see the face of OxgenOS?

Well, if you are totally excited with the announcement and you can’t wait to see what OxygenOS will look like, we have pretty good news for you.

OnePlus’ first custom ROM has leaked in a few screenshots which we can share with you curtsy of Gizmo China.

From what we can see in the images, OxygenOS is all about austerity. Everything is clean and flat with the icons boasting a very simile design, although they are very colorful.

The sections for game apps, tools and social media are visible. We’re also treated with a view of the app drawer and the weather app.

Oxygen OS is far from being reminiscent of Cyanogen

However, OnePlus One Cyanogen fans might have a little shock, because OxygenOS seems to be mighty different from the company’s first flagship device.

We don’t expect the version in the screenshots to be the final one, there’s just way too little information to believe this is the case. Anyway, we only have to wait a few days until the final variant is unveiled before our eyes.

In related news, OnePlus is also working on a successor of the OnePlus One. The successor is expected to make a debut in Q3 with a Snapdragon 810 processor on the inside. We had hoped to see the next-gen OnePlus smartphone sooner, but it seems Qualcomm is still trying to fix the overheating issues plaguing the octa-core chip.

We also featured the OnePlus 2 in one of our earlier pieces, as one of the upcoming devices to take advantage of 4GB of RAM.

The handset is also expected to don a 3,300 mAh battery under the hood, which will probably deliver an adequate life cycle.
