Take-Two Interactive has released its financial results for the second quarter of 2010 that ended on the 30th of April. Good news appears to be on its side, as the report says that the net revenue of the company has increased by 54 percent compared with last year's second-quarter data, namely it is up to 268 million dollars as opposed to the 173.3 million from Q2 2009. These results were better than Take-Two expected, considering what happened a year ago.

The hit titles that brought better results for Take-Two are the successful Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City for the PC and the PlayStation 3, Bioshock 2 and Major League Baseball 2K10. Moreover, NBA 2K10 and Grand Theft Auto IV are continuing to do well, GTA IV reaching a staggering 17 million sales worldwide since its launch.

The third quarter of this financial year announces itself to also be another good one for Take-Two, with the incredibly successful launch of Red Dead Redemption. The Western open-world action adventure is a smash hit and it is still dominating the charts. It has sold over five million copies to date, not even a month after its release and with the infamous summer drought incoming there's nothing on the horizon to keep Rockstar San Diego's latest game from continuing its reign.

Details about Mafia II arrived with this press release. The game will be playable at next week's E3 and will get a demo sometime in August, before its launch on the 24th of the same month in North America and on the 27th in the rest of the world. A release schedule for L.A. Noire, Mafia II and Sid Meier's Civilization V has also been disclosed, as the titles are planned for release in the last quarter of fiscal 2010. The other possible hit that might boost Take-Two's earnings even further is NBA 2K11 with the legendary athlete Michael Jordan on the cover.
