Video game publisher Take Two announces that Grand Theft Auto V has managed to sell 29 million units since it was launched in September, delivering more copies to fans than GTA IV during its entire lifetime.

The company also says that the open world title from Rockstar has managed to become the fastest selling entertainment release in history according to internal data.

Strauss Zelnick, the leader of Take Two, states during the official reveal of the financial results that, "The extraordinary success of Grand Theft Auto V illustrates the positive momentum in our business and consumers’ enduring appetite for the highest-quality interactive entertainment."

At the moment, Rockstar is working on adding more content to the free GTA Online mode and that probably means that GTA V will continue to deliver sales all the way through Christmas.
