Camera app shoot objects from multiple angles, spits out 3D model

A free iPhone app from the people at Obvious Engineering enables you to create 3D stills using an age-old method of shooting objects from various angles, then stitching those shots together to create 3D model.

Normally you wouldn’t get too excited about such an app, but the results are very impressive. Plus it’s free. A (video) example of how Seene works is available on the developers' web site.

The UI is also very intuitive, allowing you to guide the camera around the object / person you’re shooting until you achieve a 3D image. The downside is that you can’t rotate around the object a full 360 degrees.

iPhone 4 users are told that they cannot take seenes on their device, but they can view them.

In other words, you’ll need an iPhone 4S (or equivalent processor speed on iPad and iPod touch) to harness the full potential of Seene. Grab it at the link below. It’s free.
