One unusual toy car

The Japanese have come up with quite a large number of unusual toys (well, not just toys, a lot of unusual… everything) over time, including here an absolutely huge number of remote-controlled vehicles. However, since a RC car, no matter how sophisticated, is not exactly a fantastic novelty, the people from Takara Tomy have decided to literally “escalate” this whole issue and developed a toy car, the AeroSpider, that can actually climb any wall.

Apparently, the new device from Takara Tomy uses a fan placed on its lower side in order to create a powerful suction effect, which keeps it close to any surface by removing the air underneath. Of course, things might take a turn for the worse when the power is instantly cut off, but that's a whole different story.

And if the footage available on the manufacturer's website is not staged, then there might really be something about this AeroSpider. In the respective video clip, a Japanese kid is filmed while literally driving the device up the wall, over a door and even onto the ceiling, without ever losing grip. Just imagine the possibilities.... (although I bet not all parents are willing to have their kids drive a RC car across their walls filled with expensive paintings).

The best thing is that the AeroSpider is actually a fairly affordable product, since it will retail for an estimate 4,725 Japanese Yen (44.18 US dollars) when it gets officially launched on the market by the month's end. Given this fairly low price point, this very interesting toy might actually become quite a huge hit, both in Japan and around the world, depending on just how fast the RC car will arrive in US and in Europe. So, get ready for your paintings to turn into a racing ground, your walls into a Nascar circuit.... and your precious vases into nothing but pieces.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
