Talk about the speed of technology. No sooner did AMD release its notebook Puma platform and we are already seeing a notebook based on this specific platform. And where else could this be, unless at this year's Computex trade show. Apparently, a second-tier Taiwan-based notebook manufacturer, named Clevo, has displayed a portable computer that is said to feature AMD's latest technology.

Although the design isn't among the best features of the M761JU, its technical specs are clearly the ones that make it interesting. Coming in a 15.4-inch form factor, the notebook brings a normal-sized keyboard and a large mouse touchpad. It is obviously based on the ATI RS780MN chipset, which means it will support the latest AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processors. Being a Puma-based notebook, the graphics part is handled by the ATI Mobile Radeon HD 3470 Hybrid X2.

The notebook's technical sheet didn't include details concerning the product's storage space or solution, but it did offer details about other technical specifications, such as security and wireless connectivity. Consequently, the notebook is going to come with a built-in 2.0MP webcam and wireless 802.11b/g WLAN connectivity. It will also support a HSDPA 3.5G wireless connectivity and a built-in fingerprint reader.

Attendants could also see at the manufacturer's booth a 15.4-inch gaming notebook based on the yet-to-be-released Intel Montevina platform. This model featured support for the new Montevina Core 2 Duo processors and came with graphics support from NVIDIA's 8800M-GTX card, running with 512MB of graphics memory.

And, just like most other notebook manufacturers present at this year's Computex, Clevo also displayed a netbook featuring the Intel Atom processor. The 7-inch netbook is expected to come with 2.0MP webcam, 802.11b/g wireless connectivity, Fingerprint reader and ExpressCard slot.
