NetScout Systems, Inc., one of the market leaders in Unified Service Delivery Management, has announced that Taiwan Mobile, the second largest mobile
service provider in the country, has launched the nGenius Service Assurance Solution on its network. Taiwan Mobile has invested over $311 million in the 3G infrastructure from 2004 until now. The operator's collaboration with NetScout had the purpose of maintaining their services performing at peak levels and offering an enjoyable user experience for their customers.
The nGenius solution is mainly used for monitoring the gateway GPRS support node, 3GPP performance, HTTP traffic or DNS servers, which offers the operator detailed information on the network performance, as well as the possibility to rapidly solve any issues that might appear. Apart from monitoring, nGenius can be used to spot any anomalies before causing any kind of impact on Taiwan Mobile's customers.

With the help of NetScout, Taiwan Mobile expects to maximize its revenues from the
roaming agreements the operator currently has with other carriers. With the nGenius Service Assurance Solution, Taiwan Mobile now has the means to monitor roaming traffic or record various performance data numbers on its network, while also being able to compare data with traffic on its partners' networks.
The nGenius solution is also able to capture and validate data sent through the GGSN, as well as provide billing mediation data used to check the charges being billed to customers. The nGenius solution has proven itself as an indispensable asset in the carrier's Operation Support System infrastructure.
