Hacktivists from Taiwan continue to attack major Philippines websites after the recent incident in which the Philippine Coast Guard opened fire on a Taiwanese fishing vessel.

In the first phase of the campaign, hackers launched distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks against government websites, but now they’ve started defacing sites and leaking information from their databases.

The Hackers Bulletin reports that Anonymous Taiwan has leaked data from the systems of the Philippines’ Province of Sulu, the Public Safety College, the Provincial Government of Bulacan, the Intellectual Property Office, the Department of Education, and a domain registrar.

In addition, hackers have defaced the website of the .gov.ph domain registry (dns.gov.ph).

“Philippine Coast Guard killed Taiwanese unarmed fishermen is injustice and unforgivable. Philippine government protecting murders is unacceptable. You must apologize. Killers must be arrested immediately. Otherwise, we will not stop,” the hackers wrote on the defaced site.
