Tabloid Editor Resigns over Affair with Jon Gosselin

The Gosselin drama seems a never-ending source of material for tabloids, especially since it has long gone beyond the limits of reality television. Jon Gosselin, the father of 8 that the public got to meet on the show “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” has recently been spotted with Kate Major, an editor for Star magazine. Now, after professing her love for Gosselin publicly, news emerges that Major has also resigned from her position, as JustJared can confirm.

“I didn’t mean it to happen, it just did. I went to do a story on Jon and ended up falling for him.” the 26-year-old editor said the other day. Understandably, the declaration of love made all the headlines and even took Gosselin by surprise, who insists there’s nothing going on between them, as he’s in a relationship with 22-year-old Hailey Glassman.

Still, Major has resigned from her job at Star magazine, as she was in a position where she had mixed business with pleasure, as the saying goes. “Star magazine senior reporter Kate Major resigned this morning, Thursday, July 23, citing a conflict of interest between her reporting duties for the magazine and her relationship with Jon Gosselin.” JustJared writes.

The Gosselin drama has yet to unfold completely, several US publications point out, as Glassman insists she and Jon are still together, as so does he. In this context, Major’s resignation does not seem to serve any purpose since she wouldn’t be with him – and clearly not madly in love with each other as she hinted the other day – other than, perhaps, selling copies for the magazine with the unasked for but welcome publicity from the association with her name.

It’s already a well-known fact that the Gosselins, once held as the ultimate example of picture perfect family, have long had marital issues. In fact, just the other day, a report emerged that Jon and Kate had actually been separated many months before they announced their decision of getting a divorce on live television, which meant they put up an act for the sake of the audiences of their show.
