A new survey conducted by educational media brand, PBS Kids, in November shows American parents are going to opt for tablets when it comes to shopping for their children's Christmas presents.

The study included 1000 American parents with children aged between 2 and 10. It turns out that 54% of parents plan to purchase a tech item to put under the Christmas tree this winter.

The younger the parents, the more prone they are to choose tech presents. 59% of parents aged between 18 and 34 claimed they intend to “make a technology purchase" this winter.

Out of those opting for a tech gift, 28% of parents are going to choose a tablet, while 18% will purchase a video game console. Along with tablets, parents will be acquiring educational apps and games, so children can play and learn with their family and loved ones.
