National Enquirer comes out with shocking story on Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s twins

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s twins, Vivienne and Knox, are the topic of an article in the latest issue of National Enquirer, one of the biggest tabloids in the world. Though the two children are perfectly healthy for all the world knows, the tab claims they have been plagued by health issues ever since birth and may even have Down Syndrome, as Babble Blogs can confirm.

The article in question has not yet made its way online, so there is little to go by in terms of story. However, the photo on the first page of the print issue of the tab is out, and it’s already causing a fuss in the blogosphere, especially since the Enquirer seems to make the bold claim without as much as a single trace of proof. Gossip lovers know that this is common practice with the tab – yet, this time, we’re talking about two kids and making the Down Syndrome claim should not be taken so lightly.

“The newest issue of National Enquirer shouts: ‘Twins Health Shocker! Tragic Down Syndrome Reports Surrounding Vivienne & Knox.’ That’s a really heavy claim. Is there any truth? Let’s take a look inside at the facts. Well, there are none. Several commenters on the Internet believe that the children look like they have DS. […] Angelina and Brad are both outspoken about issues that concern them, so it’s likely that if the twins or any of their children were suffering a disease they wouldn’t hide it,” the aforementioned celebrity gossip blog writes.

It is not the only e-zine or blog to be outraged about the Audacity of the National Enquirer in running such a story without as much as bothering to ask for confirmation beforehand. “I’m kinda shocked that they think it’s appropriate to report something like this without a confirmation, but I guess it is the Enquirer we’re dealing with. Brad and Ange don’t employ a publicist, so I’ve left a message for their lawyer to respond to the story, but I guess they’ll just ignore this kind of cruel speculation. Whatever’s true, I hope the twins are happy and healthy,” Johnny Ikon says.

So far, the couple’s attorney has not yet responded to any request for comment on the story. Still, if the Enquirer does come out in print with such claims (which it will probably do), it might face serious problems if it does so without confirmation.
