Acer is in a pretty rough argument with Microsoft about the fact that the Redmond giant will be practically competing with its own clients in the tablet market, once Surface reaches the shops. We don’t really understand why Acer would be so upset as it has a considerably minuscule market share in this sector.

Wanting to capture significantly more market share, Acer is preparing some tablets and among these is the Iconia Tab A110 7” Android device that’s going head to head with Google and ASUS’ Nexus 7.

Acer’s 7-incher will sport the same Tegra 3 quad-core processor and roughly similar specifications.

The screen with have a lower pixel density but there will be multiple connectivity options like MicroSD, microUSB and HDMI that the Nexus 7 doesn’t come with.

The battery is a tad smaller, but the price will be smaller than Nexus’.

Many were wondering about the version of Android the Iconia Tab A110 is going to run and today some official-looking press pictures have reportedly surfaced the internet.

These show the tablet sporting Google’s Jelly Bean and, although we don’t know whether this change will delay the summer launch of the A110, we’re happy Acer is bringing it already upgraded to the market.

It would be nice and useful to know if the 10-incer Iconia Tab A210 will sport the upgrade as well, but there’s no clear information on that.

We’re sure the company will latter issue a Jelly Bean update to the Iconia  Tab A210 if the tablet is rushed to the market with ICS, but it seems Acer takes the Google Nexus 7 competition seriously and so it should.
