Given recent development, little else is likely to happen there

We might not have any recent sales tallies or analyst reports to comb through when it comes to the TV market in China, but other sources allow for some educated guesses.

More specifically, Digitimes says that TV chip suppliers Novatek Microelectronics and Realtek Semiconductor expect better sales in the country.

It's partly because the TV chip market share held by MediaTek was limited by the government after it merged with MStar Semiconductor.

This kind of clashes with the assumption that general sales are on the rise, since it implies that Novatek and Realtek will only get orders because MediaTek isn't allowed to spread fully (restricted to 50% now, instead of 70%).

Anyway, TVs, at least, have been gaining ground in China recently. No wonder these two want in.
