Presenter Bill Beckwith of the DIY TV show “Curb Appeal” that airs on HGTV has died in a motorcycle crash in San Francisco's Lower Haight neighborhood on Monday.

As one of the show's hosts, Bill had managed to gain a popular status among the DIY community and also to those who love home restoration programs. When news of the 39-year-old presenter hit the web, many fans chose to express regret at his loss on the show's social media outlets as well as their own.

Bill Beckwith's brother, Christian, was quoted by CNN as saying that what the show he did was in fact “the least interesting thing” about him. He also describes Bill as a man with a great thirst for life, “He needed to chase experiences and embrace life in its raw form as often as possible.”

The show he was on offers home makeovers to people who need to add a little magic to their living quarters, having proven popular in recent times, under one format or another, which is why HGTV (Home and Garden Television) has a couple running in its schedule.

Like the shows on the Food Network, the programs on HGTV have been described as wholesome, and free of drama, offering a different kind of entertainment to its viewers. They have the potential of turning some of their presenters into potential stars.

The network has issued a statement on Wednesday, in which it expressed its regret, “The HGTV family is deeply saddened by Bill's tragic death, and we mourn his loss along with his many family and friends who will miss his creativity, adventurous spirit and general love of life.”

Bill Beckwith's tragic and sudden demise tends to bring in parallels to the recently departed actor Paul Walker who died in similar conditions on Saturday, when the car he was traveling in crashed into a light pole and burned completely.
