TRENDnet has made available the 1.00.011 firmware version that is targeted at its TL2-E284 Fast Ethernet switch. The package is to be applied only through a direct network connection with the computer (via Ethernet cable).

The new version fixes the NVRAM driver in order to prevent unexpected flash access errors, and even more, it modifies the boot parameters so that system failures would not occur anymore.

As for installing the firmware, first assign a static IP address to the PC to access the device’s web management interface, and afterwards, login to the web configuration page using a web browser.

Now, from the system section, select “Firmware Upgrade,” click on “HTTP Firmware Upgrade,” and then “Browse.” Navigate to the unzipped downloadable file, and click the “Upgrade” button.

At this point, the firmware file will be transferred to the switch, and afterwards the update process will be initiated. Make sure you don’t turn off the device, press the reset button, or interrupt the upgrade in any way.

That being told, all you need now is the firmware file contained within the zip archive that you can download by following the link below.
