TRENDnet continues to expand its portfolio of Powerline adapters with new models on almost a regular basis, and recently the company has announced the introduction of two new such adapters that operate at speeds up to 200Mbps.
The two solutions that have become available today are the TPL-306E, 200Mbps Compact Powerline AV Adapter, and the TPL-306E2K, 200Mbps Compact Powerline AV Adapter Kit.
Just as its name implies, the latter comes in a kit form and is comprised of two TPL-306E adapters, so they can be used by those who plans to build their first powerline network.
TRENDnet’s newly launched TPL-306E was designed to replace the older TPL-303E series and according to the manufacturer is 30% smaller than the latter.
Its small form factor saves space when plugged into a crowded electrical outlet.
Installation is quite simple and it only requires the user to connect one adapter to a router and plug another adapter into any outlet on the same electrical system for instant high speed
network access.
Furthermore, the connection is automatically encrypted for added data safety and the security keys can be easily changed by just pressing the Sync button present on one of the adapters.
On the top side of the device, a series of LED light are present to convey the device status for easy power management and troubleshooting and the devices also include an embedded power saving technology that lowers power consumption by up to 70% when in stand-by mode.
The 200Mbps Compact Powerline AV Adapter, model TPL-306E, should be available right now from the company’s partners with a recommended price of $54.99 (about 42 EUR), while the kit retails for $99.99 (76.3 EUR).
TRENDnet also build a series of higher performing Powerline adapters that can reach speeds up to
500Mbps.
