TRENDnet has just launched a new firmware update for its TEW-811DRU AC1200 Dual Band Wireless Router. The new release comes with some security updates and NAT loopback support.

To this point of the release notes, this update is similar to the previously announced firmware for TEW-812DRU, the AC1750 “sibling.”

Apart from the common changes, the TEW-811DRU gets a fix for the Opera web browser compatibility issue.

With the firmware there comes a warning from the manufacturer written in red, bold characters and it advises users not to update via wireless connectivity as it will certainly damage the product in cause. Instead, users should perform the installation through a wired connection.

Inside the archive, one will find the changelog, the bin file and instructions for the update. Make sure to consult these instructions before trying to install.

Below is the link to the new firmware. Download it, install it and stay “updated one minute ago.”
