The new update resolves reported security vulnerabilities

TRENDnet has just announced two new updates for their TV-IP572WI and TV-IP572PI internet cameras. Version 1.0.2 fixes security vulnerabilities.

Because the single difference between the two cameras is the connection type (TV-IP572WI uses a wireless connection, while TV-IP572PI needs a LAN cable), it becomes obvious why they share the same version number, changelog and release date.

The installation procedure is fairly simple and requires a PC with a browser as well as the firmware update “bin” file.

To begin with, make sure you have a wired connection between the camera and the PC. Download the archive from the link below and extract its contents.

In a browser window go to your camera's IP address (default is 192.168.10.30), log in with your credentials and go to the “Setup” page.

Under the “Tools” tab you will find “Firmware Upgrade.” Click that section and in the following screen, browse for the firmware “bin” file. It is now time to hit the “Upgrade” button.

After the camera restarts, check the firmware version and perform a factory reset (this is recommended by the manufacturer. To keep the original settings, back them up before updating).

Below is the link to the firmware. Download, install and stay “updated one minute ago.”
