TRENDnet, a company well known for its networking hardware, just announced the availability of the company's second 3G Mobile Wireless N Router which allows consumers to share their mobile data connection with multiple users.
The TRENDnet mobile router supports both 3G and 3.75G transfer speeds, as well as other older mobile data communication standards, and connects to the computer via a single USB port.
This is also where the 3G Mobile
Wireless N Router draws its power from, as the unit comes without an internal battery. When a computer isn't on hand, the device can also be plugged in an electrical power socket via the included adapter.
Configuration is also as easy as it gets as the TRENDnet router features a Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button that automatically configures a secured connection between it and the targeted computer.
Other features include, support for wireless transfer speeds up to 150Mbps, a built-in hanging hook for attaching the device to the back of a notebook, advanced firewall protection, Quality of Service (QoS) prioritization controls and access restriction controls, just to name a few.
“Now users can share a single 3G Internet connection while in between flights at the airport, at a job site, car pooling to work, or even on vacation with the family. Consumers need only an active Internet plan with their respective third party 3G / 3.75G Internet service provider,” said a
TRENDnet official.
“Connecting to the
router is easy with Wi-Fi Protected Setup or WPS, which connects computers to the router at the touch of a button. The latest in wireless encryption protects your valuable data and it comes with a handy carrying case,” concluded the company's rep.
The 3G Mobile Wireless N Router, model number TEW-656BRG, is currently shipping to online and retail partners with a recommended price tag of $99.99 US.
