After all the nice motherboards Biostar have been releasing during the last year, we're glad to greet the first one running the new X79 chipset from Intel, codenamed TPower X79 Ver. 5.x.

Far from being a stunning appearance, this new Biostar motherboard seems to aim for the middle section of its family pricelist.

The specs of the Biostar TPower X79 Ver. 5.x include the expected 4 DDR3 slots supporting Quad-Channel, with a 32GB memory capacity, 3 PCIe 3.0 slots, 4 SATA 6G connectors, and 6 USB 3.0 ports. As for the multi-GPU section, this board supports Nvidia 3-way SLI and AMD 3-way CrossFireX.

The audio chipset comes from Realtek and sports some improvements from Biostar – the Puro Tone HD audio technology, offering support for THX sound, as well. One nice thing about the Biostar motherboards is the presence of the BIO-Remote2 technology, allowing you to control your computer using an Android smartphone or an iPhone.

Finally, the Biostar TPower X79 Ver. 5.x comes with an UEFI USB-flashable BIOS and easy, friendly overclocking capabilities. Check back with us shortly as drivers will soon be available.
