It might not be much of a movie, but it’s an amazing tribute, reviews say

VH1’s highly anticipated TLC movie, “CrazySexyCool,” aired last night and the first reviews are starting to pour in: fans loved it because it reminded them of one of the greatest female groups in history, but critics not so much.

Done with the approval of Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, the two remaining members of the band, the film stars Drew Sidora (T-Boz), Lil Mama (Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes), and Keke Palmer (Chilli).

The biopic might not amount to much as a film, but as a tribute it’s just perfect, Spin magazine writes, because it hails back to an era of amazing music, wonderful and empowering messages, and wacky fashion.

The movie stands out particularly for the way in which it recreates some of TLC’s biggest performances both live and in music videos, even if these scenes are not used afterwards with a purpose in mind.

Even so, especially if you grew up with TLC, it’s a must-see, the aforementioned publication says. Did you catch the movie on VH1 yet? If so, what did you think of it? Let me know in the comments section below.

If you haven't seen it yet, above is a trailer: check it out and see what the fuss is all about.
