Kate Gosselin’s reality show, “Kate Plus 8,” may be history – in the sense that it has probably been canceled by TLC, the network that also turned her into a star with the now-defunct “Jon and Kate Plus 8.” There’s no mention of Kate in the fall schedule. As
TV By the Numbers can confirm, the network has unveiled its fall schedule and, very surprisingly, Kate and her family of 8 adorable kids are nowhere to be found on the list.
The schedule includes a bunch of new shows, some reruns and some shows that are returning this fall. In this last category, we find “Cake Boss,” “Sister Wives,” “The Little Couple” and “Extreme Couponing,” all of which are coming back this September.
No word of “Kate Plus 8.”
October sees “Lottery Changed My Life” and “Say Yes to the Dress” coming back to the small screen, with brand new seasons.
No word of “Kate Plus 8.”
November comes with new seasons of “Cellblock 6,” “Cake Boss: Next Great Baker” and “Toddlers & Tiaras.”
Again, no word of “Kate Plus 8.”
Since the Gosselin show was, until just recently, one of the biggest hits on TLC and it’s not included in the fall schedule, many have already assumed that the network decided to let the ratings for the past season do the talking – and quietly canceled it.
There’s no denying that the series took a massive hit, especially compared to the 10-million viewers it brought in some years ago, when it was still at its peak.
In fact, some voices in the blogosphere are wondering how come “Kate Plus 8” made it this far since there’s hardly any interest in it anymore.
Asked by one of her many
Twitter followers whether reports that the show was canceled are accurate, Kate Gosselin says that, to her knowledge, she’s still on TLC.
“kate+8 cancelled??” the fan asks. “NOoOOO!! Is it true? Zero Truth! Not going anywhere!!!Tons of fun2 be had!” replies Kate, occasionally dubbed “the original Octomom” in the press.
On Monday, August 8, TLC is reportedly to start airing new episodes of the show, documenting Kate and the kids’ trip and adventures in Australia.
