TLC is looking to leave no area of life unexplored if it’s in its power to make the most of it. On December 26, the first day after Christmas, it will air a TV special / pilot episode for “Best Funeral Ever.”

A trailer for it is available above.

Entertainment Weekly notes that, if the pilot is received well by viewers at home, it will most certainly determine the network to order a full season.

As the trailer shows, the special focuses on the funeral home Golden Gate from Dallas, where director John Beckwith, Jr. goes out of his way to fulfill every wish of the grieving family where the funeral ceremony is concerned.

Whether they want a boxing ring or a disco-themed room for the ceremony, Golden Gate is here to provide it for them – and TLC cameras to get every bit of action.

As Mr. Beckwith Jr. says, “We’re going to make these families extremely happy at the worst moments of their lives,” because no going away ceremony should be like the other.

The special is produced by Park Slope Productions.
