THQ and GamersGate Extend Their Agreement

- New games are now available for online purchase

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

The global download portal GamersGate has announced that it has entered an extensive digital distribution partnership with publishers THQ. This new agreement will benefit the game fans all over the world who would rather purchase games online, instead of traveling to the nearest game shop to make the
purchase.

The previous agreement between THQ and GamersGate included a worldwide access (excluding Australia and New Zealand) to some of the publisher's best games, like Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts and Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, as well as the original titles Company of Heroes and Supreme Commander. Now, a bunch of new titles are available on the platform, like: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and Full Spectrum Warrior, as well as the recently released Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights and the upcoming Frontlines: Fuels of War.

"We are delighted to offer our global network of customers this premium portfolio from THQ," said Theodore Bergquist, CEO of GamersGate. "Our growing range of quality games as well as our accessibility and technical platform has made us a front-runner in the digital distribution arena and an attractive choice for PC gamers worldwide."

This agreement follows the latest THQ acquisition – Big Huge Games, who are working on a role playing game led by Ken Rolson, Oblivion developer, as well as "another game" which is kept a secret at the moment. And this new deal with GamersGate surely is a way of increasing the potential customer numbers for the publishers.

"We look forward to working with GamersGate in making our premium PC games available via their popular portal," said Adrienne Lauer, THQ's National Sales Director of Market Development in the Americas.

THQ has over 50 PC titles in their portfolio, including games like Cars Mater-National, American Girl: Julie Saves the Eagles, Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? and Evil Dead Regeneration. And surely there are some fans who would love to see at least one of these titles available online.
