Publisher THQ has announced that it has entered into an exclusive agreement with Dr. Deepak Chopra, a self described spiritual expert and supporter of alternative medicine, aimed at creating video game experiences based on his teachings.

The agreement apparently covers all major video games consoles, portable systems and online gaming portals but the company has not said when the video games could be launched or who will be developing them.

The Deepak Chopra titles will be created in collaboration with Curious Pictures, a production company which has previously worked with both Harmonix and Rockstar, while also working on some online only titles.

Martin Good, who is the executive vice president at the Kids, Family, Casual Games, and Global Online Services division of THQ, has stated, “We look forward to translating Dr. Chopra's teachings and practices into a video game that provides gamers with a truly unique and rewarding experience”.

Lewis Kofsky, the executive producer and partner at Curious Pictures, also said, “We are excited to take the Deepak Chopra properties to innovative platforms that appeal to a mass market audience. We are confident THQ will introduce and bring his work to life in ways that will engage his followers and gamers alike in a whole new way.”

Dr. Deepak Chopra is trained in traditional Indian Ayurvedic medicinal practices and has published a lot of books supporting the idea that faith is a coherent alternative to modern Western medicine.

Publisher THQ has recently been courting talent that comes from outside the world of gaming, with acclaimed movie director Guillermo del Toro announcing that he was working with the company on a Lovecraftian horror video game.

THQ is also creating titles based on the World Wrestling Entertainment franchises and collaborates with Disney, Dreamworks and Nickelodeon.

Some of the biggest franchises for the company are the Volition made Saints Row and Red Faction.
