THQ, besides showcasing its profit figures earlier this week, also took the chance to confirm that the sequel to Metro 2033 is going to be called Metro: Last Light, and that it has canceled the Saints Row: Drive-By title for the Nintendo 3DS.

THQ has quite a lot of titles in its pipeline, and has now shared some details about one that is already in development and one that has just seen its creation process grind to a halt.

First up, the good news is that Metro 2034, the sequel to last year's Metro 2033, has received a brand new name, in the form of Metro: Last Light.

The new title will be out next year, and, judging by past statements from THQ's core games boss, Danny Bilson, it will have a much more customized marketing campaign, which is set to really show off how different Metro is, as opposed to other conventional shooters, including Call of Duty or Battlefield.

No other details are known, except that it's still developed by 4A Games, the studio behind the original Metro 2033.

Nintendo 3DS fans will be sad to hear that THQ is no longer working on Saints Row: Drive-By, a game that was set to appear for the portable platform this year, alongside the full pledged Saints Row 3: The Third for consoles and PC.

"We are not developing Saints Row: Drive By," a THQ representative told Joystiq, confirming previous reports that the title might have been shelved.

When pressed for the details of the move, the rep gave a dry no comment.

Saints Row: Drive-By was presented by Nintendo at last year's E3 conference, when it showcased the actual 3DS console, but it didn't receive any actual details since then.

Now, it seems that only one Saints Row experience is going to be delivered to gamers this year.
