Video game publisher THQ has announced that it is allowing fans of the UFC series to vote on the athlete that will grace the cover of the upcoming Undisputed 3 title, with five of the stars of the UFC competition being subjected to public scrutiny and choice.

Those who are interested in voting can log into the official website of UFC Undisputed 3 before September 30 of this year and choose between: Frankie Edgar, UFC lightweight champion;Georges St-Pierre, UFC welterweight champion; Anderson Silva, UFC middleweight champion; Jon Jones, UFC light heavyweight champion and UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez.

Those who vote are able to win tickets to future UFC events, as long as they live in the United States or in Canada, excepting Quebec.

Danny Bilson, who is the executive vice president of Core Games at THQ, has stated, “Letting fans vote for the UFC Undisputed 3 cover athlete is a unique way for us to connect with our extensive worldwide audience of UFC fans, fighting game enthusiasts and more casual sports followers. We look forward to seeing if Jon Jones, Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre or Cain Velasquez has what it takes to grace the cover of what will be the most invigorating MMA videogame release to date.”

Dana White, who is the president of UFC, added, “Frankie, Georges, Anderson, Jon, and Cain are five of the most popular athletes in our sport and each wants to be on the cover. We love making our fans a part of the process and we'll leave this one up to them.”

UFC Undisputed 3 is set to add a new PRIDE mode as well as two new weight classes while allowing gamers to use any of the 150 simulated UFC fighters.

The game will be launched on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 on January 3 in North America and on January 27 in Europe.
