After rumors suggested that all development on Dark Millennium Online has been suspended, publisher THQ has confirmed that the MMO might be having some issues as it was announced that it was seeking a partner which can invest part of the resources required to get it launched after March 2013.

Talking to investors, Brian Farrell, the chief executive officer at THQ, told investors that, “Because of the large financial commitment and associated risks, we are being realistic about our resources and we are actively seeking a partner for this compelling new MMO. We will keep you updated on our progress.”

Development work on Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online is being handled by Vigil Games, known for launching Darksiders, and Relic Entertainment, the studio behind tactical series Dawn of War and shooter Space Marine.

The estimated cost for an AAA MMO is above 50 million dollars (38.3 million Euro) and recently THQ has suggested that it will move away from kids and family games because of financial difficulties and will be focusing on core properties.
