TGS - Capcom Showcases ZACK & WIKI: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure

Capcom's announcements and displays at the Tokyo Game Show seem to dominate the event big time, with this latest showcasing of ZACK & WIKI: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure and fact sheet for the Wii title coming in as soon as this morning. This is Capcom's first exclusive and original title for the Wii.

"Innovation has been the cornerstone of Capcom's successful history ," said Jack Symon, director, brand marketing, Capcom Entertainment. "By introducing a whole new level of interactivity, this title reinforces our commient to pushing the limits on how people view and play games."

Here's what they've revealed about the game's plot so far: Legend has it that a revered pirate named Barbaros once stole the world's treasure and hid it on a mysterious island. Though no one knows of its exact location, stories about the untold riches that lay in wait have been passed down through the ages, driving pirates from all walks of life to pursue the alluring prizes. One of these treasure seekers, a young apprentice pirate named Zack happens upon a mysterious talking skull, the skull of Barbaros himself. Barbaros promises to reveal the key to the island, if Zack will help lift the curse he is under.

Basically, players will be exploring a variety of stages, solving puzzles and interacting with the wonderful landscapes in search of a legendary pirate ship and the ultimate pursuit of becoming the greatest pirate the world has ever seen. There will be tons of pathways to unlock while stages based on a variety of themes including Jungle Ruins, Frozen Temple and Volcano Cavern have multiple sub-areas.

- Make full use of the unique Wii Remote controller to explore and interact with the environment
- Seven themed stages each including multiple sub-areas: Jungle Ruins, Frozen Temple, Airship, Castle and more; more than 20 sub-areas to explore
- Variety of distinct bosses

- More than 100 objects to manipulate
- More than 500 items to search for and collect
- More than 30 hours of gameplay
