Team Fortress 2 is one of the biggest online shooters out there, thanks to the solid support that the team from Valve gave to the players of the cartoon-style game. From various patches to big content updates, the developers did a fine job of supporting the title.
Now, with the most recent update, a break from the norm was recorded, as it didn't focus on any class, like the previous ones, and thus was dubbed the Classless Update.
On the
first day, the new batch of content brought 18 fresh hats for the different characters to sport and a different map for the Arena mode.
Yesterday brought forth a brand new gameplay mode, in the form of King of the Hill, alongside fresh maps for it.
Today, the team at Valve says that this will be the end of the update, bringing together with it a revamped version of Sawmill for the Capture the Flag mode and another community map for the Control Point mode, called Yukon.
Also included in this update is the complete list of changes included in the whole patch, ranging from item reworks for the Scout's Sandman and Force-A-Nature to changes to the maps like Pipeline, Sawmill or Granary. The full list can be found at
this address.
Overall, while most players were eager to dig around the update and eventually find out just what kind of trick Valve was pulling or whether it was actually hiding the class or classes that would benefit the most from this update, it seems that the company has in fact delivered a simple update, which is a big change from its usual support for Team Fortess 2. Hopefully, other updates will follow the same old tried-and-true recipe and that we will see other classes receive their own in the near future.
