As expected, TELUS introduced the Galaxy Nexus, along with other Canadian carriers, such as Fido and Rogers. However, TELUS has the upper hand as the operator decided to undercut all other carriers’ offers for the Galaxy Nexus.

Basically, TELUS customers will be able to grab the Galaxy Nexus for only $99.99 (78 EUR) with a new three-year agreement. The introductory offer is only available until January 26, after which the smartphone goes for no less than $299.99 (235 EUR) on a three-year term.

On a short term TELUS offer is a deal breaker, but it the long run it may not prove to be so beneficial for the carrier’s profits, especially given that other Canadian operators are selling the Galaxy Nexus for only $160 (125).

Additional pricing options for TELUS Galaxy Nexus are detailed further: $549.99 (430 EUR) with new two-year agreements, $599.99 (465 EUR) with a new one-year contract, and $649.99 (505 EUR) on no-term.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first device bringing Google’s latest Ice Cream Sandwich platform to Android enthusiasts. “Samsung Galaxy design and Android 4.0 power combine to deliver maximum mobile innovation,” claims TELUS.

The smartphone comes with several interesting features, such as Optik, which enables users to watch On Demand movies and shows via Optik TV application.

Obviously, the full Google suite of apps and services is pre-loaded as well, including Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Search and more.

Hardware-wise, TELUS Galaxy Nexus is equipped with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, PowerVR SGX540 GPU, 16GB of internal memory and 1GB of RAM. Unfortunately, the smartphone does not come with a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

There’s also a brilliant 4.65-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution and oleophobic coating. The device also packs a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing photo snapper for video calls.
