Canadian mobile phone carrier TELUS is expected to add to its offering in the near future a new Android-based smartphone that would connect to its HSPA+ network, the Samsung Fascinate 4G, a Galaxy S device, and some more info on the carrier's plans for this handset emerged, complemented by a video ad for it.

The main idea behind the video commercial is that the new device would be able to offer much faster connectivity speeds than 3G devices would.

“Get up to speed with the Samsung GalaxyS Fascinate 4G. Life is fast and trouble free,” Samsung Canada notes on their YouTube account.

While with other handsets users' lives would involve waiting and idling, the new Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate 4G was meant to change all that.

Indeed, the handset should provide users with a much better experience when it comes to downloading files, sending emails and messages, or receiving them.

The Fascinate 4G is touted as Canada's fastest smartphone, and is expected to become available for purchase at TELUS as soon as May 12th is here.

The new device comes as the succesor of the Fascinate 3G, which landed at TELUS last year. Unlike the older device, the new one would offer support for download speeds of up to 21 Mbps.

The pricing would match the phone's capabilities, it seems. In a recent article, MobileSyrup notes that the Fascinate 4G should go for $529.99 when purchased free of contract.

However, TELUS users would also have the possibility to purchase it on contract, for $479.99 upon the signing of a one-year contract, or for $429.99 with the signing of a two-year contract agreement.

Those who would have nothing against committing to a lengthier, 3-year contract agreement would be able to get the new mobile phone for $99.99.

The release date for this mobile phone was almost confirmed for May12th, though it remains to be seen whether all the details on its availability would pan out or not, so stay tuned.
